Level 1
In the Level 1 classes, we’ll ask about jobs.Practice personal pronouns. Use “well”, “I know”, “I’ve heard of”, ”Favourite”. “Actually” and using the present perfect negative.
Our target is to have natural sounding dialogues such as:
Do you know Yayoi Kusama? 草間彌生を知っていますか。
Yes, I do. She’s a very famous artist. はい、知っています。彼女はとても有名な芸術家です。
Do you like her? 彼女が好きですか。
I don’t know her well. How about you? 彼女のことをよく知りません。あなたはどうですか。
I really like her. 彼女がとても好きです。
Or
Who’s your favourite composer? 好きな作曲家は誰ですか。
Nobody special. How about you? 特に誰もいません。あなたはどうですか。
I really like Bach. Do you know him? バッハがとても好きです。彼を知っていますか。

Level 2
In the level 2 classes we’ll start by using “heard of”, “think of”, “familiar with”. We’ll practice natural sounding conversation such as:
Do you know Yayoi Kusama? 草間彌生を知っていますか。
Yes, of course. She’s a very famous artist. はい、もちろん。彼女はとても有名な芸術家です。
What do you think of her? 彼女をどうおもいますか。
I’m not really familiar with her work. How about yourself? あまり彼女の仕事になじみがないんです。あなたはどうですか。

In the level 3 classes, we’ll have a more general conversation about famous people and fame and we’ll introduce some useful vocab and expressions such as “look up to, renowned ,world-renowned, familiar with, rings a bell”
A level 3 conversation should look something like that:
Do you know any French famous people? フランスの有名人を誰か知っていますか。
Yes, have you ever heard of Voltaire? はい、ヴォルテールのことを聞いたことがありますか。
Hmm, the name rings a bell but I’m not really familiar with him. What’s he famous for? うーん、名前には心当たりがありますが、あまりなじみがありません。彼は何で有名ですか。
He’s a famous French philosopher. 彼は、フランスの有名な哲学者です。
Is he still alive? 今も生きていますか。
No, he died more than 300 years ago. いいえ、300年以上前に亡くなっています。
