今週末のレッスン内容 – Describing Character

Hello everyone, this week we are going to be talking about character.
The target of this class is to expand our vocabulary especially the adjectives we can use to talk about character. We’ll try to describe our character as well as the character of people around us.

Also we’ll be using degree adverbs such as “really/ very / pretty / quite / kind of / fairly / a little”, use “ I think” and talk about character traits we like or dislike on people.

In the level 3 class we’ll take a very interesting personality test.

今週末のレッスン内容 – 性格の描写

みなさんこんにちは。　今週末のレッスン内容は、性格について話します。
このレッスンのターゲットは、みなさんのボキャブラリーを増やすこと、特に性格について話す時に使う形容詞を増やしていきます。みなさんの知り合いの性格と同時に自分たちの性格についても話していきます。

また、度合いを表す副詞、「本当に/とても/けっこう/かなり/大体/まあまあ/少々」を使います。“ I think”を使って、みなさんの好きな、もしくは嫌いな性格の特性について話します。

レベル３では、とてもおもしろい性格診断について話します。

6月になり、梅雨入りしましたね☂️
見事に雨の日が続きそうですね(´･ω･`)

私は出掛けることが好きなんですけど、雨の日はさすがに外に出る気がなくなってしまいます(´-ω-｀)

みなさん雨の日って何をされてますか？
私は、とりあえず普段、掃除しないとこを掃除したり、一日プライムビデオをみたり(笑)
今はヨガもしてますので、お休みの日はヨガに行ってます♪
5月はゴールデンウィークやらなんやら忙しくて、なかなか行けず、月末に駆け込みヨガをしてました(笑)
なので、６月はきっと雨の日も多いので、ひとまずヨガに集中して通ってみようと思います(｡+･`д･｡)ｷﾗｰﾝ

毎週、みなさんが頑張ってレッスンに来られてる姿を見て、私も頑張らないとって気持ちになります( *´艸｀)

How to study English – learn the verb tenses off by heart.

Hello there everyone.

Recently I’ve had a lot of new private students in Nishijin and the reason they are taking privates instead of groups is that they aren’t confident enough in their English abilities to join group lessons.

The thing that I’ve noticed with most of them is that they haven’t learned the verb tenses yet. Tim introduced the phrase “off by heart”in one of his blogs and I think it may be a good idea to learn the present, past, and present perfect of the most commonly used verbs off by heart,(all the different forms of the be verb too) it just makes following the lesson easier and once you have them memorised you will be able to recognise the patterns in spoken sentences more easily.

There are lists of verbs and all their tenses all over the net, I suggest you search for them in Japanese to make them easier to understand.

みなさんこんにちは。

最近、西新校ではたくさんのプライベートレッスンの生徒さんが来られています。グループレッスンの代わりにプライベートを受ける理由として、グループレッスンに参加するにはまだ自分の英語力に十分に自信がないということです。

プライベートを受ける方を見ていて気付いたことは、まだ動詞の時制を学べていないということです。Timが“off by heart”（何度も覚えて頭に焼き付ける）というフレーズを以前ブログの中で紹介していましたが、一般的に使われる現在形、過去形、過去完了形を学ぶには、頭に焼き付けて暗記してしまうのが、私はいいアイデアだと思います。（be動詞の別の形式もすべて）

それはレッスンについていくのをより簡単にしてくれますし、一度覚えたら、話されている文章がより簡単に理解できるようになるでしょう。

動詞の時制についてのリストがインターネットにあります。日本語で調べてみたほうがより簡単に理解できるのでおすすめです。

Hello there everyone, 2 weeks ago I showed you the colour idiom “ out of the blue” I’d like to continue with colour idioms today so this week let’s look at “ green with envy”

Green with envy simply means to be really jealous about something. For example..

I was green with envy when my friend had told me he was going to Thailand for 2 weeks. I’d always wanted to go but never had the chance.

My son was green with envy when his friend bought a new nintendo game so I had to go and buy one for him too.

みなさんこんにちは。2週間前に色に関するイディオムで“ out of the blue”を紹介しましたが、今回も色に関するイディオムを紹介しようと思います。今日の色のイディオムは、
“ green with envy”です。

“ green with envy”は何かに対して、すごくうらやましがることを意味します。
例えば、

友達がタイに2週間行くと聞いた時、すごくうらやましく思ったよ。
僕は、いつも行きたいと思っているのに、全然行くチャンスがないんだ。
