Travel English – Asking Directions ANSWER

Hello, a couple of weeks ago we introduced some questions to ask when asking for directions. After a few requests from our students, today we are going to introduce some ways to answer those questions.

How do I get from A to B?
Ex.How do I get from Tenjin to Hakata station?
A.You should take the subway. It takes about 5 minutes.

What’s the best way to get to A from B?
Ex.What’s the best way to get to the Fukuoka city hall from IMS?
A.You can walk, it only takes a few minutes.

How far is it from A to B?
Ex. How far is it from Yakuin station to the Ohori park?
A.The best way to get there is by train and subway. It’s probably about 20 or 25 minutes.

How long does it take to A from B?
Ex. How long does it take to Meinohama from Ohashi?
A.The best way to get there is by train and subway. It’s probably about 30 or 35 minutes.

こんにちは、2~3週間前、道を尋ねるときの聞き方をいくつか紹介しました。生徒さんからそのあといくつか質問をもらったので、今日は質問されたときの答え方を紹介したいと思います。

AからBへはどうやって行ったらいいですか？
Ex.天神から博多駅まではどうやって行ったらいいですか？
A.地下鉄がいいと思います。5分くらいで着きますよ。

BからAへ行くのに一番いい方法は何ですか？
Ex.ィムズから福岡市役所に行くのに一番いい方法は何ですか？
A.歩いて行けますよ。2~3分で着きます。

AからBはどれくらい離れていますか？
Ex.薬院駅から大濠公園はどれくらい離れてますか？
A.電車か地下鉄で行くのが一番いいでしょうね。おそらく20~25分くらいかかると思います。

AからBへはどれくらいかかりますか？
Ex.大橋から姪浜までどれくらいかかりますか？
A.電車か地下鉄で行くのが一番いいでしょうね。おそらく30~35分くらいかかると思います。
