Good morning Fukuoka!
One of the focus points of our classes this week is the use of article “a/an”.
A very simple rule of thumb to remember is that we don’t use articles without nouns.

Ex. I think Fukuoka is very convenient.
(There is no noun in the end of the sentence above, just an adjective “convenient” but if we add a noun at the end “ city” then we need to also add an article)
Ex. I think Fukuoka is a very convenient city.
(We use an if the next word after the article starts with the vowel)
Ex. I think Fukuoka is an exciting city.

冠詞を使う

おはよう福岡！
今週のレッスンの焦点の一つは、冠詞「a / an」の使用です。
覚えておくべきとてもシンプルなルールは「名詞がなければ冠詞は使わない」ということです。

例：
I think Fukuoka is very convenient.
(福岡はとても便利だと思います。)

上記の文には、文末に名詞がなく、形容詞「convenient」で終わっているので冠詞は不要です。
ですが、文末に名詞「city」を追加する場合は、冠詞を追加する必要があります。

例：
I think Fukuoka is a very convenient city.
(福岡はとても便利な街だと思います。)

また、冠詞のすぐ隣の単語が母音で始まる場合は「an」を使います。

例：
I think Fukuoka is an exciting city.
(福岡はワクワクする街だと思います。)
