Welcoming a new teacher to Kensington

Hello again everyone!

I’m very happy to announce that we have made a new hire for both the kids’ and adult schools. His name is Patrick Cleary and he is originally from Ireland, but has just moved to Fukuoka after living in Hiroshima for the last 6 years. Patrick is going to be teaching in the Yakuin and Sakurazaka schools at the moment, but hopefully you will be getting a chance to meet him at our next school event! Patrick not only teaches English but is also a professional music teacher too, so we think he is going to be a very useful new addition to the team.

Hiring

Hello everyone, 

The last few months in Kensington have been pretty hectic. Our main focus was on hiring, so we spent a lot of time going through new teacher and staff applications, interviewing them online and also meeting them face to face in our classroom for the final stages of our hiring process.

As I’m sure most of you must have noticed, all Kensington teachers are friendly, professional and know what they are doing. That’s mainly because of our hiring process and because we are so careful to employ only what we believe are the right people. 

We have hired two new teachers for our kids school and two new staff, and we are still looking for one or two more part time teachers.

Our hiring policy is something that our customers can’t really see or know of, but you can see the benefits of it every time you come to a Kensington classroom and are greeted by a professional teacher with a smile and high motivation to do a good job.

採用

みなさん、こんにちは。

ここ数ヶ月、ケンジントン英会話は多忙をきわめました。
主に注力していたのは採用で、新しい講師とスタッフを募集し、オンラインで面接し、最終段階として実際に教室で会う、という採用プロセスに多くの時間を費やしました。

ほとんどの方が気づいているかと思いますが、ケンジントン英会話のすべての講師はフレンドリーかつプロフェッショナルで、やることに抜かりがありません。
これは主に、先ほど述べた採用プロセスによるものと、適切な人材であると確信した人のみを採用するように注意しているためです。

ケンジントンキッズアカデミーに講師２名とスタッフ２名を採用しましたが、まだ引き続き１、２名のパートタイム講師を探しています。

採用方針はお客様には見えづらいものですが、確かに生徒さんはケンジントン英会話のレッスンに来るたびにそのメリットを実感し、やる気に満ちたプロの講師に笑顔で迎えられるでしょう。

Making new courses for you

Hello there everyone, 

You may not be aware of this but your private classes are chosen specifically to match your needs and level. We have a course of core lessons which are chosen to slowly build you up from the basics, a study abroad course, a my business course, and a communication course.  We have just rearranged the curriculum to make it easier for you to track your progress and know what you will be studying further in advance than before. Homework Handouts

Heya, Denny here.

Some of our private students have noticed in recent months that we’ve been giving out some custom homework assignments to them as a way to help improve their English. For example, one of my private students is given a question to write about and answer in detail at the end of each lesson, which we then review and go through in the next lesson.

For me in particular, my writing is my strongest asset and I have some experience in being an editor – so I can really help some student’s out there when it comes to smoother sentence structure.

Every teacher has a different skillset you can learn from, and maybe from the homework, too!

プライベートレッスンで英語を上達させる方法として宿題を利用し始めている生徒さんがいます。
ケンジントン英会話の宿題は生徒さんごとにカスタマイズされていて、たとえば私の生徒さんのうちの一人は、各レッスンの最後に私から質問があたえられます。
生徒さんはそれに対する回答を詳細に書き、次のレッスンでそれをレビューします。

特に私にとってライティングは私の最も強力な資産です。
編集者としての経験もあるため、文章を構成することに関してはみなさんのお役に立てるはずです。

講師ごとにさまざまなスキルセットがあるので、いろんなことが学べますよ。
宿題を利用するのも良いですね。
