What we are doing in Kensington
Kids Academy in January

Hey guys, 

We have two monthly themes for January in our Kid’s academy: Countries and Culture.

I’m excited to share my culture with our young students, and to learn about new ones with them. Learning English unlocks more information to many cultures that we may have not been aware of otherwise.

You can always ask us about our culture in your classes, maybe try some questions like: ‘What is a unique part of your culture? or ‘How is your culture different to Japanese culture?’.

1月のキッズアカデミー

やあみなさん

キッズアカデミーでは、1月は2つのテーマがあります。
「様々な国々」と「文化」についてです。

若い生徒さん達と一緒に、私の文化をシェアしたり、新しい文化を学んだりする事にワクワクしています。英語を学ぶ事は、私達がまだ知らない沢山の情報の扉を開ける鍵となります。

レッスン中、いつでも私達の文化について質問する事ができます、
例えばこんな質問をしてみましょう。

あなたの文化独特の部分は何ですか？とか、あなたの文化と日本の文化はどの様に違いますか？など。

 What we are doing in Kensington

Hello!

This month in our kids schools we’ve been learning all about instruments! We took this opportunity to show our elementary students a very familiar song to them in English: Kimetsunoyaiba’s theme tune. 

The lyrics in Japanese and English share the same meaning so it’s great for the kids to see that and associate them together. You can try it with some of your favourite songs, it’s interesting to start to understand things that you previously weren’t aware of.

今月キッズスクールでは楽器について学んでいます。この機会を利用して、小学生の生徒さん達によく知られている鬼滅の刃の主題歌の英語バージョンを紹介しました。

歌詞は英語と日本語で同じ意味なので、子供達がそれらを一緒に見比べて関連づけられるのはとても良い学習です。あなたも好きな曲で試してみて下さい。今まで気付かなかったことを理解しはじめることは楽しいですよ。

ケンジントンでのできごと – 雙葉学園GCコースのためのインターナショナルコース

What we are doing in Kensington
International Course for Futaba GC

Since July this year, we have started a new more advanced course for our kindergarten girls that are interested in passing the GC test in Futaba. The GC course is one of the very few bilingual courses on offer in Fukuoka for elementary students (there are only 2 at the moment) and as such is very popular and is getting harder and harder to get in.

Entering the GC course is really a life changing experience as it allows your kids to become truly bilingual, I think it’s a fantastic idea as it opens up a new world for our children.

We have a few students that are going to take the GC test on Nov 8th and recently we have been stepping up our efforts to help them maximise their chances to pass the test.

Our girls have worked so hard, have improved so much since we started that pass the test or not, they are winners! Personally it’s been a privilege working with them, and seeing them try to do their best day in day out.

雙葉学園GCコースのためのインターナショナルコース

今年の7月から、雙葉学園GCコースにご興味をお持ちの幼稚園生のお子様向けに新しい上級コースを始めました。GCコースは、福岡ではとても数少ない小学生のためのバイリンガルコース（現在のところ２校のみ）であり、非常に人気のため入学はどんどん難しくなって来ています。

GCコースに入学することは、あなたのお子様が本物のバイリンガルになれる、人生を大きく変える経験になるでしょう。私はそれを、子供達の新しい世界を広げる、素晴らしい考えだと思います。

私達の学校には、11月8日にGCコースのテストを受ける数人の生徒達がいます。そして最近は彼女達がテストに合格するチャンスを最大限にする為に一層の努力を傾けています。

彼女達はとても一生懸命やっていて、始めた頃に比べてとても上達しています。試験に合格しても、もししなかったとしても、彼女達は勝者です。毎日毎日、ベストを尽くそうと頑張っている姿を見ると、彼女達と共に取り組むことを誇りに思います。
