The study advice I’d like give to myself and our students is
Setting a simple target every few months. For example, in the next 3 months, I want to be able to answer the teacher/classmates’ questions in more than 3 sentences, be able to understand the news on BBC, be able to explain to my teacher my work project in about 5 minutes…

やあ皆さん、日曜をのんびりと過ごされていますか？

私自身と生徒さんへの学習アドバイスは、「数ヵ月ごとにシンプルな目標を立てる」という事です。

例えば、次の3ヶ月で講師や他の生徒さんからの質問に3つ以上の文章で答えられる様になる、BBCのニュースを理解できる様になる、仕事のプロジェクトについて、5分間の説明を講師にできるようになる…などです。

TOEIC Tips on the speaking part of the test

A very happy and prosperous new year everyone. Hope you’all started on those great new year resolutions. Here’s another tip for taking and getting a good score on the TOEIC test.  

In the last blog  I mentioned that the test comprises of  Speaking and Writing, Grammar and structure, Listening and Reading

Tips on the speaking part of the test (11 questions 20 minutes)

  1. Speak loudly and as clearly as possible with whatever accent you may have. It’s not a good idea to try to correct your accent problems during  the test. Do it before the test.
  2. No live examiner(s), you’ll be  wearing headphones and speaking into a microphone. Please practice speaking to yourself before the test and as I said in tip 1 Speak as clearly as possible into the microphone but of course naturally.

皆さん新年明けましておめでとうございます。皆さんの素晴らしい新年の抱負を聞かせて下さい。ここでは、TOEICで良いスコアを取るためのヒントをご紹介しましょう。

前回のブログで、TOEICにはスピーキング、文法、リスニング、リーディングのパートが含まれているとお伝えしました。

スピーキングテストのヒント（11問の質問/20分間）

1．あなたがどんなアクセントだったとしても、できるだけ大きな声ではっきりと話しましょう。テスト中に正しいアクセントにしようと試みるのは良い考えではありません。テストを受ける前にやっておきくべきです。

2．その場に生きた試験官はいません。皆さんはヘッドフォンを装着し、マイクで話します。テスト前には、私がヒント1でお伝えした通り、できるだけはっきりとでも自然に、マイクに向かってあなた自身で話す練習をしましょう。

What we are doing in Kensington
Preparing for 2022

Hey everyone, Denny here. Hope your day is going well.

With 2021 coming to a close, we’re now beginning to work on goals and other projects for 2022. There are a lot of things in the pipeline in Kensington. I can say for a fact that we’re making sure we’re ready to teach Eiken – ranging from Grade 4 up to Grade 2 – and also polishing our already excellent courses that we usually teach under our curriculum. 

I hope you have a wonderful new year and enjoy learning English, Eiken and many other things with us in 2022. Thanks for all the great moments teaching you!

2021年も終わりに近づいて来ました。私達は現在、2022年の目標や新たなプロジェクトを始動し始めています。ケンジントン英会話には沢山のことが進行中です。4級～2級までの英検対策コースの準備や、普段私達がカリキュラムに沿って教えている、素晴らしいレッスンコースにさらに磨きをかけていることは間違いありません。
