Since our subject this weekend is about going to the department store, I’d like to introduce you a couple of expressions about shopping,
Pay through the nose: To pay too much for something.
ex. We paid through the nose for our new apartment in Ropponmatsu.
To shop around : To visit a number of shops to compare prices.
ex. Before we decide on our new PC, we shopped around many places in Tenjin.

To shop around : 価格を比較するためにいろんな店を見て回る
(例)…自分たちの新しいパソコンを買うにあたり事前に天神のたくさんの店を見て回った
