これは、1940年5月13日に首相としての就任演説でウィンストン・チャーチルが語った言葉です。
チャーチルがこの「blood, tears, and sweat (血と涙と汗)」という言葉を広めたことで有名ですが、実はこの表現自体は彼のオリジナルではなく、それ以前から他の人々によって使われていました。
