こんにちは！あと数週間で2025年にさよならをして、2026年を迎えることになりますね。皆さんにとってよい一年であり、年末には楽しいイベントを計画していることを願っています。イベントといえば、今回のブログ記事はまさにそのテーマです。
イベントとは、人々が集まって何かを祝ったり記念したりする特別な機会のことです。たとえば、家族の誕生日、会社の創立記念日、国の独立記念日など、さまざまなものがあります。

私が参加した忘れられないイベント
最近参加した中で最も重要なイベントの一つは、この夏に祝った私たちの結婚25周年、いわゆる銀婚式です。娘たちが福岡県春日市にある素敵なイタリアンレストランでディナーの予約をしてくれました。ディナーは本当に素晴らしく、妻と私は娘たちからプレゼントももらいました。私はとても素敵なコーヒー用のマグカップと、高級なイヤホンをもらいました。
とても思い出に残る素敵な時間でした！

イベントについて話すときに使える便利なフレーズや文法パターンをいくつか紹介します。

→ 好きな曲がいくつかあったので、そのコンサートを楽しめました。

今年の日本での主なイベント
日本では一年を通して多くのワクワクするイベントが行われます。今年の一番大きなイベントの一つは、4月から10月にかけて開催された大阪・関西万博 2025 です。世界中から多くの来場者を引きつけました。
また、2025年東京陸上競技選手権もとても盛り上がりました。9月13日から21日まで東京で開催されました。
さらに、全国各地の都市では、夏祭り、花火大会、文化イベントなどが開催され、日本の伝統を大いに感じられる一年となりました。

Hello there, in a couple of weeks we’ll be saying bye to 2025 and welcome 2026! I hope you’ve had a good year and you’re planning some fun year ending events. Speaking of events, this blog post is exactly about that. An event is a special occasion where people come together to celebrate or commemorate something. For example a family member’s birthday, a company’s foundation day, a country’s independence day and many others. In this blog, I will talk about a recent family event we had, useful expressions you can use to talk about events in English, and some major events that have happened in Japan this year. I hope you can learn some new vocabulary and phrases as you read this short blog entry!
A Memorable Event I Attended
One of the most important events I attended recently was our 25th wedding anniversary or silver jubilee which we celebrated this summer. Our daughters reserved a dinner table at a nice Italian restaurant in Kasuga city, Fukuoka. The dinner was magnificent and my wife and I received gifts from our daughters. I got a really cool coffee mug and a pair of expensive earphones (photo). It was a memorable occasion!

Major Events in Japan This Year
Japan always has many exciting events throughout the year. One of the biggest events was the Osaka Expo 2025 held from April to October. It attracted visitors from around the world. The Tokyo 2025 Athletics Championships were very exciting. They took place in Tokyo from September 13th to 21st. In addition, many cities hosted summer festivals, firework shows, and cultural events that highlighted Japanese traditions.
