Hello everyone! Summer is here and it is time to start getting rid of this dad bod and getting back to my beach bod! (I’ve never had one by the way).
For anyone who has been in Kensington for longer than a couple of years you will remember that I was a lean mean fighting machine in 2023 a not so lean unable to move machine for most of 2024 due to some serious back issues.
I’m back on track now and I hereby declare that I will lose 10 kilograms by the end of this year and will also run a half, and full marathon in 2026 starting with the Uminonakamichi half marathon in March!! Care to join me on my journey back to health and fitness? If so then please feel free to join me on my mission and come and join me in the park early in the mornings!
There are 5km, 10km, and 20km options out there, so you don’t have to aim for a full or half marathon if that’s not your goal!
If you just want to enjoy an early morning run or get a bit of exercise, you’re also more than welcome to join.
When: Every Wednesday for starters and as the marathon day gets closer, Fridays too! The start time is 5:30 am. This time will change to 6:00 then 6:30 as the weather starts to cool down. Starting from August 6th.
Where: Ohori Park for starters. The meeting point will be Donguri Koen not far from the American Embassy.
Why????: Good question. For me, it’s all about getting back in shape after a long absence from exercise and I’d love to have some company in the mornings. You can come and run at your own pace for general fitness and a sense of accomplishment or start training yourself for the aforementioned full and half marathons next year. If we have enough takers, it’d be great to join those as “Team Kensington”.
If you’d like to join me please let us know you’ll be attending and I’ll be there. We will connect on the Nike running app which is a good way to keep track of your progress and also encourage or compete with others in the group!!!
So, if you are up for a bit of a challenge (I know I most definitely am!) then be like Nike and ….Just do it!

夏がやってきました!それにあわせて、朝のランニングクラブを発足します!
Jaimieは過去にマラソン経験もありますが、2024年は腰のケガで運動ができず…。
この夏から心機一転!2026年に一緒にマラソン大会に出場する仲間を募集しています!
5km、10km、20kmなどの距離もあるので、必ずしもフルマラソンやハーフマラソンを目指す必要はありません!
もちろん大会に出場するかどうかも完全に自由なので、「とりあえず朝走ってみたい」「健康のために軽く走りたい」という方もぜひ気軽にご参加ください!
